Set Expansion Joint
Manufactured from two perforated metal sections and jointed by a 5.5mm square PVC closed cell foam strip with adhesive on both edges. This allows expansion in the cement render walls to be absorbed. Render expansion joints can be produced for internal corner application where two masonry walls run at 90 degrees to each other, which require a movement joint. The most common application of this section is in long walls where movement joints are installed at pre-determined points to absorb small amounts of movement. A round plastic insert is placed between the two perforated metal sections to keep the joint clean when rendering and is removed before the render sets, leaving a clean straight joint.
